Explore thyself!

Standard

Hello, fellow humans!

It has been a long, long time since I posted here. This time of abnegation was not easy for me too but yesterday, in a moment of ‘self-forgetfulness’, I came up with this drawing and the message above entails the gyst of the story of my writer’s block. Once I discover I’m good at something or that people benefit from what I do, I start to lose the ‘involunary’ element of the act. It becomes a part of a sickening routine. The sublime aspect of writing is the sincerity of emotion and in this torpor, writing/blogging is a sin.

So…solution? First, I needed to clear my mind by leaving all problems to God. Then, I put myself in the present and notice what things make my heart excited about life. I needed to get the blog out of the comma so I started to explore myself this way. For instance, if I watched TV, I watched myself from outside to know what are the things that make my heart jump.

My work is only meaningful if it is connected to society in any way. Anything outside this set, holds no value for me. Doing things for the sole purpose of entertainment (like playing games online) just drains away spirit.

I don’t know

Standard

I just really dislike the way people say, ”I don’t know how I did this” after some big achievment. There’s always something- planning, hard work, sacrifice, self-control- that gets you the prize. Why do people say this, then? Do they forget their toil? It puzzles me. Paulo Coelho said that after you climb a mountain, tell your story to others because it serves as an inspiration but statements like ‘I don’t know how I did it’ are very  misleading; for once, it gave me the impression that whatever you do, you will get what you want simply by having a strong desire for it because… as the person said he does not know his formula for success, there must be none and we just need to do what we think is our best. These kind of vague concepts get us nowhere- it leads to abject failure. I think I got a reality check that to achieve something, you need to

Dream—-Research on the dream—-Plan—-Act

And this is what I call giving your best.

Thanks for reading! Hope this helps everyone. 🙂

Hey, don’t be dumb!

Standard

Dumb?

No one is dumb. Everyone has talent and intellect. But. There are moments when I see people being dumb. Being absolutely out of their minds- very very 😦 and cranky! The only reason people stoop to that is that they do not use their brains as much as they should. You need to be smart and figure out the art of happiness. My dad always says that. So look around, find reasons, find logic….and the result: THANKFULNESS.

In the end, you’ll be thankful.

So…be smart, be happy.

🙂

P.S. For me, I always use my brain to pretend, to pretend that everything is perfect and this day is a gift. I constantly use my mind to emboss that idea. Speaking to myself, I finally start believing and I start thanking God.

Stripping away the inessential

Standard

Hello, people!

I caught one of my fleeting thoughts today…it is very much like this….

Believe me, it’s very hard to catch one of those thoughts when you’re about to fall asleep. And then I acted upon that thought…

Yes, the elation you get to know that your instincts are your best guidance…I was as happy as this Spongebob. Ok, it’s high time that I reveal that treasured thought- Out of nowhere, my mind told me to watch the commencement speech of J.K.Rowling at Harvard. I mean, I was about to fall asleep and this is what I thought of, aik dum se (Urdu for ‘all of a sudden’).

After watching the video, I found these words levitating on my head

”Shedding my fear of failure was actually a stripping away of the insessential”

So what is essential? What is inessential? Whenever you hear of someone’s success, whenever you see that object you want on tv or online, whenever you start to envy or daydream wistfully about the ideal future, THAT is inessential. Essential is WHAT YOU WANT NOW, WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO RIGHT NOW!! You are important. Not the image of success that society has created for you. Don’t picture yourself telling someone in the future, ”I own this, I own that, I graduated from that univeristy, I have this car, that outfit”…change this scenario. Picture this instead: Sitting on a chair outside a cafe, eating ice cream with your heart at peace, with knowledge that you saw someone smiling because of your efforts, that you exist, exist in the truest sense.

Just do this. Now when you come to your present, you may take a little time to adjust to this image of the future. But that is your battle; remember to use your sword, your tranquil dream of the future. By the way, you should not be thinking about the future but if you do, think about the ice cream thing…or anything of that sort 😛

So…what do you want to do right now? Nothing? Even that’s fine. You’re important. 😀

Ice cream!

Unclockable!

What time really is

Time is unclockable

I read an article in The Guardian by Jay Griffith titled ‘Clock time can play havoc with your emotions’; reading the article entailed an emotional upheaval…that liberating, flying sensation you get upon receiving an insight. Science agrees that creativity requires our mind to wander so why do we keep making to-do-lists and schedules- insurances of getting things done- and sacrifice the quality of our work that may result from spontaniety? I have discussed the same thing in a post before (about the quote from The Holy Quran that a believer must  live in moments..in the present) but time and time again, I keep falling for this trap of Clocking everything. Obsession with perfection may be the convict here so getting rid of this ugly habit will take time and until then, I will keep posting about clock-addiction (:

So today, the only thing occupying my mind is my action plan to implement on the beautiful words of this article…

ACTION PLAN

1.Transform yourself into a radar: Receive the message that the universe is sending, listen to your heart..where is it gliding? The universe sows the seed of inspiration in everyone of us everyday. The seed then grows and becomes a plant- the action.

2.Let the plant grow: Now do what the universe demands from you.

Usually during the action, I play some adventurous/happy music in my head, like the Glee cover of Whitney Houston’s It’s not right but it’s okay

RESULT

Happiness 🙂

Hope this result is the same for all of you.
